Jharkhand Tribal Development Society

The Jharkhand Tribal Development Society is being established in the Year 2002 and registered under the Societies Registration Act – 1860. This is a society under Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class welfare department of Government of Jharkhand. The primary objective of the society is to implement different Tribal development projects of Government of Jharkhand.  The Society has implemented two projects namely Jharkhand Tribal Development Program – JTDP(2002-2012) and Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and Livelihoods Project – JTELP(2013-2021) in 14 Tribal Sub Plan Districts covering 32 blocks of the state. The total outreach of the project is 169 Panchayat, 1779 villages and 2.11 Lakhs beneficiaries through different livelihoods activities.

Solar Based Irrigation System under SCA to TSS in all 14 Districts. In Zone – 1 (Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga, Gumla & Latehar Households – 24. In Zone – 2 (East. Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela & Simdega) Households - 26. In Zone – 3 (Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Sahibganj & Jamtara Households - 24

Mushroom Cultivation under SCA to TSS For Zone-1(Dumka, Godda & Sahebganj) Households - 600. For Zone – 2 (Lohardaga, E. Singhbhum & Jamtara) Households - 525.

Vermi Compost under SCA to TSS For All 14 districts Households - 2000.

Apiculture under SCA to TSS For Zone – 1 (Dumka, Pakur & Sahebganj) Households – 250. For Zone – 2 (West Singhbhum & Jamtara) Households - 250.

Targeting The Hardcore Poor under CCD Scheme For Zone – 1 (Ranchi, Gumla, Lohardaga and Latehar) Households - 2150. For Zone – 2 (East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela and Simdega) Households - 1600

Glimpse of Activities
The program aims at:-

Empowering the Tribal Grassroots’ associations and user groups including women and other marginal groups.

Promoting activities, which generate sustainable increases in production and productivity of land and water resources

Generating sources of income outside agriculture, particularly for landless.
